Chancellor Bushnaf And al-Sayeh Discuss Security Arrangements For Upcoming Elections

On Thursday morning, The Interior Minister of the Libyan Interim Government Chancellor Ibrahim Bushnaf met in the Office of the Ministry in Benghazi with the Chairman of the High National Election Commission, Dr. Imad Al-Sayeh.

The meeting discussed the preparations of the High Commission for Elections and readiness to carry out presidential or parliamentary elections or referendum on the upcoming constitution.

Chancellor Bushnaf confirmed that all the departments in the Ministry are fully prepared to secure all polling stations and UNHCR headquarters in all areas under the control of the Libyan Interim Government, pointing to his support for any electoral process that would end the state of division in the country.

His Excellency condemned the terrorist attack on the UNHCR headquarters in Tripoli, in which the victims of this treacherous attack were killed.

Bushnaf pointed out that Ministry is working day and night to secure the UNHCR headquarters In Benghazi and other cities after the completion of the maintenance work by the Libyan Interim Government, noting that he will not hesitate to provide any services to the High Commission and through securing the upcoming elections.

On his part, Dr. Emad Al-Sayeh praised the role of the Interior Ministry in securing the headquarters of the UNHCR, stressing that it is a key party to ensure the fairness of the electoral process.
