A Conference On Combating Cyber-terrorism To Be Held This August In Benghazi

A conference dedicated to combating cyber-terrorism, sponsored by the Libyan National Army – LNA will be held this August in the city of Benghazi, LNA Media Office said.

The Benghazi Conference for Combating Cyberterrorism will host several experts and professionals in the field and will discuss effective methods of combating the unique and innovative phenomenon of Cyber-terrorism, according to LNA Media Office.

The conference that will be held on August 5, 2018, will be attended by participants from several countries including Russia, Jordan, Egypt, Algeria, Morocco, Iraq, and Oman. They will meet up in Benghazi to develop practical approaches to criminalize cyberterrorism by furthering cooperation between anti-cyber-terrorism organizations and institutions.

The host city, Benghazi, has been liberated last year by LNA after more than a three-year campaign against terrorist groups including ISIS, al-Qaeda in the Islamic Maghreb, and Ansar al-Sharia. In this war, more than 5000 people were killed and others were wounded or missed, and major parts of the second biggest Libyan city were damaged, according to the Municipality of Benghazi.
