TRIPOLI – The Ministry of Internal Affairs of GNA revealed the truth about the assassination of Brig. Gen. Khairi al-Ritimi, head of the Air Chiefs of Staff at the Ministry of Defense of the GNA, indicating that the results of its investigations and gathering inferences revealed that al-Ritimi committed suicide by killing himself with a pistol inside the place of ablution at Ben Nabi Mosque.
The ministry, according to its media office, explained on Saturday that one of the eyewitnesses confirmed that they heard shooting inside the place and found him shot dead in the head and pistol still in his hand, revealing that before the suicide process, he sent a letter to one of his friends without mentioning him asking him to take care of his at 3:17 am.
“By combining information, it was found that al-Ritimi had been subjected in the previous period to life pressure that led him to commit suicide,” the ministry said.
GNA called interior ministry called to refrain from publishing any news that compromises the security situation inside the country, pointing out that it warned more than once about not publishing news only by referring to the official source and verifying its authenticity.
