The Address | Benghazi – Libya

BRUSSELS – Italian Foreign Ministry Undersecretary Emanuela Del Re said there is a strong commitment from Italy to make Libya’s seaports safe.

Del Re said during the EU meeting in Brussels on Monday that they are doing everything to ensure the necessary security conditions for achieving stability in the region where migrants are received.

The spokeswoman for the European executive, Natasha Bertaud, said on Monday that she does not consider the Libyan ports safe or eligible to receive migrants.

It is noteworthy that most of the migration routes go through areas in western Libya under the control of forces loyal to the Presidential Council in Tripoli, while areas under the Libyan National Army (LNA) remain of little migration routes, specialized international NGOs
