GECOL Warns Of Complete Collapse Of Its Network In Western Region

TRIPOLI – The General Electric Company warned in a statement of the possibility of a collapse in the general electricity network at any moment because of the refusal of some stations located in some Libyan cities to the process of loading, including the area of Janzour, which feeds from the station west of Tripoli and the city of Zawia, And al-Harsha town.

The company said that all parties that do not respond to the program to assume full responsibility in the event of any deficit in the public network, and expressed the hope that the citizens can understand the reality of the situation the country is going through, and help GECOL in order to give priority to the interests of the country until the critical phase is exceeded.

The company acknowledged its inability to meet the demand for electric power during the summer due to the complete cessation of the power station of al-Khums city, and the first unit at the station of the western mountain – Ruwais, as well as the high temperature rise, pointing to a large increase in demand for electricity and excessive consumption and the loss of units about 25% of their production capacity at high temperatures.
