Saleh Presents Libya’s Vision Of Palestine Before the Arab Inter-Parliamentary Union In Cairo
The Address | Benghazi – Libya
CAIRO – The Speaker of the House of Representatives, Chancellor Aguila Saleh Issa, took part in the Arab Inter-Parliamentary Union (AIPU). The AIPU meeting was held in Cairo, at the request of Kuwait and several Arab countries to discuss the repercussions of the Jerusalem issue in light of Israeli practices and recent developments in the Palestinian cause.
In a press statement, the Media Advisor to the House of Representatives Abdul Hamid al-Safi, said today that Saleh presented the vision of the Libyan state, which has supported and still supports the Palestinian right in their under-occupation country, repeatedly asserting their right to establish a Palestinian state with East Jerusalem as its capital.
Saleh stressed that “the Libyan state opposes the approval of the General Assembly of the Knesset, last Thursday, to the law of the basis of nationalism, which states that the State of Israel is the national homeland of the Jewish people”. This is the most dangerous law that legitimizes racism and discrimination against Arab and Palestinian.” al-Safi added.
Saleh said that the law denied the right of self-determination of the Palestinian people and justified the discrimination policies between Jews and Arabs on the basis of race and ethnic backgrounds, according to al-Safi.
