GMR Water Is Back To Gharyan Pipeline

GHARYAN – The water of “Great Man-Made River” network is “back to the Gharyapipelinee line of Buzayyan – Al Rahibat, which feeds the cities of Al-Aabarah, Kulayh, Qawalish, Yafran, Qatah, Awainiyah, Rayyanah, and Zintan.” The head of the Gharyan District of “Hasawneh-Jafara” al-Habashi declared.

Al-Habashi stressed that it was agreed and coordinated with the General Electricity Company – GECOL not to apply the loading of pumping stations to the Association for the continuous flow of water for citizens.

GMR is one of the largest underground network of pipes (2,820 kilometers) and aqueducts in the world. It consists of more than 1,300 wells, most more than 500 m deep, and supplies 6,500,000 m3 of fresh water per day to the cities of Tripoli, Benghazi, Sirte and elsewhere.
