Call for Release of Abductees from Court of Waddan

The Address | Benghazi, Libya

TRIPOLI – Today, Monday, Ministry of Justice in the Tripoli-based Government of National Accord (GNA) called on members of  the General Authority of the army and police to work quickly on releasing the judge of  Waddan, Jufra court, the prosecutor, and two members of the judicial police kidnapped by gunmen after storming the headquarters of the court and the district prosecution yesterday.

In a statement, the ministry called for securing the lives of the abductees and following up on their captors and their collaborators and bringing them to justice to receive the punishment of their actions.

The ministry said it was following, with great concern, the armed attack that took place on Sunday in Waddan Court and District Prosecution, where an armed criminal gang stormed the headquarters of the court, and kidnapped the judge Abdul Salam Mohammed al-Senoussi Sharif and the prosecutor Ali Ismail Hassan Sharif and the policemen Tahir Osman Hamo and Ahmed Mahdi Younis.

The Ministry condemned any criminal act aiming at undermining the rule of law, demanding the kidnappers to immediately release the abductees unconditionally.
