The Address | Benghazi – Libya
The Central Bank of Libya in Tripoli denied, on its official Facebook page, what some media reported about the Spokesman of the Libyan National Army (LNA), Brigadier General Ahmed Al-Mesmari, accusing the Central Bank of Libya of transferring a sum of money to Ibrahim Al-Jadran, a militia commander who used to control the Oil Crescent before the LNA expelled him.
The Tripoli-based Central Bank said that all its transfers are carried out in accordance with the payment permits issued by the Ministry of Finance of GNA, and in accordance with the provisions of the relevant laws. The bank said that they welcomed the invitation of the Presidential Council Head, Mr. Fayez Al-Sarraj, to conduct a review and audit of all their work, as a confirmation of the Bank’s confidence in the integrity of its procedures and as a refutation of slander, as it is expressed.
The Bank said it took the opportunity to assure citizens that the systematic media campaigns targeting it from several parties will not discourage the determination of the Bank officials to perform their duties in preserving the wealth of the Libyan people, as stated.
