Libya – Tunisian Foreign Minister Khemaies Jhinaoui discussed yesterday with his US counterpart Mike Pompeo a number of regional and international issues of common concern, including the situation in Libya.
Jhinaoui briefed his counterpart on the results of his visits to Tripoli, Tobruk, and Benghazi as part of the initiative of President Beji Caid Essebsi and efforts to create the appropriate atmosphere for presidential and parliamentary elections in Libya, as agreed at the Paris meeting last las May.
In this regard, the two Ministers stressed the importance of stabilizing Libya and supporting the efforts of the United Nations to speed up a consensus and comprehensive solution to the Libyan crisis.
