LIBYA – Noah Abdel-Sayed Abdullah, the Chair of the Constitution Drafting Assembly (CDA), declared his resignation from CDA today, just one day before the vote Constitution Referendum Law by the House of Representatives (HoR).
Abdullah confirmed that he had submitted his resignation due to “many obstacles related to the work and progress towards stability.” Abdullah explained in a statement received by The Address.
According to the text of the resignation, Abdullah said that he “wishes not to continue in the CDA as its president or within its members and that he will not undertake any responsibilities related to his position in the CDA from this date in the hope of accepting the resignation.”
Abdullah thanked his constituents in the fourth district of Ajdabiya, saying that “he swore before them not to betray his country.” He also swore that during his work in the CDA, he “did not belong to any party, group, or organization, and he did his job honestly and truthfully.”
