Libya – The Egyptian President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi announced that his country strongly supports holding elections as soon as possible in Libya so that there is a regime that can manage the country to become stronger. Egypt hopes that elections will be achieved by the end of this year, he added.
The Egyptian President el-Sisi, who was speaking today in the “Ask the President” session organized in Cairo as part of the National Conference of Egyptian Youth, said that Egypt clearly supports the unity of Libya and the Libyan National Army (LNA).
El-Sisi, who discussed also the situation in Syria and Yemen, stressed that Egypt will not accept the existence of armed militias or groups possessing arms in these countries, saying that armed militias contribute to the instability and chaos in these of countries.
“The basis of any country is its army and police, which are the only ones entrusted with achieving security and stability, this is Egypt’s’ view and this is its position,” El-Sisi concluded.
