TRIPOLI – On Wednesday, a delegation from the International Criminal Police Organization (INTERPOL) visited several branches of the Ministries of Justice and Interior of the (GNA) to begin a process of linking the latest anti-terrorism regulations under the name of “First Project”.
The Interior Ministry of the (GNA) announced the return of the Arab and International Criminal Police (INTERPOL) to Tripoli to resume its work normally after the lifting of the embargo imposed after the payment of all contributions due to the Organization.
The ministry said that Interpol was coordinated with Libya to be among the beneficiary countries of the project to support African countries. Coordination was also held to hold a meeting with Interpol to discuss Libya’s accession to the anti-trafficking project.
The ministry confirmed that INTERPOL has started linking INTERPOL’s weapons system database to trace stolen and missing firearms and has also taken steps to join the “TRYGAR” operation organized and supervised by the International Organization for the Prevention of Terrorist Movements and the Reduction of Trafficking and Proliferation of Weapons.
