Le Drian: France Is Determined To Implement The Terms Of The Paris Agreement And Hold The End Of This Year’s Elections In Libya

LIBYA – Jean-Yves Le Drian, the French Foreign Minister reiterated on Wednesday the importance of holding elections in Libya by the end of this year.

Le Drian said, in an interview with France Info, that France is determined to implement the terms of the Paris agreement on Libya, aimed at holding elections as a solution to the crisis on December 10.

There is no real entity representing the Libyan people and ensures the stability of the country, the French Foreign Minister pointed out indicating that going to elections is the only way to combat terrorism and to ensure the regulation of migrants’ flow.

On July 23rd, Le Drian visited Libya where he held a series of meetings with Libyan rival leaders who took part in the Paris Meeting on May 30.
