The Address – Benghazi – Libya
France – The French authorities have suspended four nuclear reactors in three power plants because of the heat wave currently sweeping Europe.
A spokesman for the French electric utility company (EDF), said on Saturday that the rise in water temperature in the Rhone and Rhine rivers, which pump the three stations of water into the cooling, temporarily shut down the reactors and restricted the volume of water used in the stations with high temperature River water.
Much of Europe is facing hot weather in the southern regions where meteorological forecasts show temperatures of 37 degrees Celsius in the Rhone valley.
Temperatures hit high record in Spain and Portugal on Friday and will remain above 40 Celsius to at least Sunday.
