The Address – Benghazi – Libya
Migration – The International Organization for Migration (IOM) reported that 680,000 illegal immigrants arrived in Libya in May 2018. The International Organization for Migration (IOM) in Libya identified 679,897 migrants in Libya as 42 nationalities and 8% of them as minors.
“The top five nationalities are Nigerian, Egyptian, Chadian, Sudanese and Ghanaian. Together, these nationalities comprise up to 65% of the population of Libya immigrants”
Libya has become a preferred starting point for illegal immigrants who hope to cross the Mediterranean into Europe because of insecurity and chaos, where the refugee shelters in Libya are crowded with thousands of migrants who have been rescued at sea or arrested, by the Libyan security services.
