HOR calls for accountability of those responsible for Libyan pilgrims suffering

Tobruk – The Committee of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs in the House of Representatives (HOR) denounced the suffering of the Libyan pilgrims, especially the elderly, due to mismanagement of the General Authority of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs of the Tripoli-based Government of National Accord (GNA).

In a statement, the committee held the Presidential Council of GNA accountable, and expressed its objection to the Authority’s obstinacy for not allowing older pilgrims to have companions.

The Committee said that the pilgrims suffering reached an unprecedented level.

The Committee called upon GNA to hold the Hajj Commission accountable, represented by its Chairman and members of its Committee.
