Libyan world champion in Muay Thai

BANGKOK – Libyan National Team player, Abdulmalek Shalawah, won the world championship in Muay Thai with first gold medal at the expense of his Thai opponent, with point difference, in the 48 kg final at the tournament in Thailand.

Shalawah’s winning of gold is Libya’s first in this edition of the World Championship.

He overtook, in the semi-final, the Kazakh player Hafiz Beck, recording a historic participation for Libya in Muay Thai.

Muay Thai or Thai boxing is a free art sport.

The World Championship, Muay Thai, started off in Bangkok on August 3 under the supervision of the International Federation of the game with the participation of more than 50 countries around the world.
