Libya’s ranking on Global Peace Index

GENEVA – Libya ranked 157th on Global Peace Index, making it one of the least secure countries among 163 countries for 2018.

Libya has become one of the least safe countries in the world in terms of danger of living with 3.262 points, According to Global Peace Index published annually by the Institute for Economics and Peace.

The Middle East and North Africa region has become the world’s least peaceful region in 2018, despite the slight improvement in the overall result, the Institute reported. According to the report, Libya ranked 17th among Arab countries.

The report is based on basic data to measure peace rate, including number of internal and external wars in which countries participated, number of deaths due to war, level of internal conflict, relations with neighboring countries, and 19 other criteria.
