HOR condemns forced eviction of Tawerghan families from camp in Tripoli

The Address | Benghazi – Libya

TOBRUK – The House of Representatives (HOR) strongly condemned the attack on the camp of the Tawerghan IDPs in Tripoli.

“The House of Representatives condemns this disgraceful act under any pretext,” the council said in a statement issued on Friday. “We hold those who committed this act or participated in it or covered the perpetrators with moral and legal responsibility to the Libyan people.”

The camp, which has some 2,000 internally displaced people, was raided this week by a Tripoli security apparatus, resulting in the detention of more than 80 displaced people, including four minors accused of criminal activities, according to the UN mission (UNSMIL) statement.
