Vehicles stolen from Al-Sarir Site of GMR retrieved

AL-SARIR – The Libyan National Army (LNA) retrieved the vehicles that had been stolen from Al-Sarir Water Wells’ Field Site of Great Man-Made River (GMR) by armed groups after entering into a fight with them in the desert.

According to informed sources, the armed forces recovered 11 vehicles stolen from the Site.

The clashes resulted in the injury of one of the soldiers, who participated in the operation carried out by battalions “331” and “127” of LNA, the source added.

In the same context, a number of workers at Al-Sarir Site arrived Tuesday night to Benghazi, GMR Administration said.

The ِAdministration explained that it had maintained a single team of five users to work in the Site in this emergency situation to ensure the continued flow of water from the Site.

It is noteworthy that Al-Sarir Water Wells’ Field was attacked on Monday by armed groups, who raided a number of cars and stole food supplies from the Site without causing any casualties.
