Women protest against lack of cash flow in Janzour

TRIPOLI – Users of social media in Libya circulated, on Wednesday, pictures of women’s protests in front of al-Jumhouria Bank, al-Naseej branch, in Janzour area west of Tripoli.

The pictures showed that women had closed Janzour Coastal Road in front of al-Jumhouria Bank, al-Naseej branch, because of lack of cash and ill-treatment, according to social media.

It is mentioned that the Bank had announced on Tuesday that it would begin distributing cash on Wednesday to women only.

It said, on its official Facebook account, that it would start distributing debit cards for customers from 7:30 am to 8:00 a.m. today.

The Bank stipulated that account holder must be present personally and have a current account to be able to receive cash.
