The Address | Benghazi – Libya
BENGHAZI – A roundtable on law and national identity was held in Benghazi today in the presence of several members of the university faculty and those interested in political, legal, social and cultural affairs. The event was organized by the Centre for Law and Society Studies at the University of Benghazi (UoB).
The roundtable, the took place at the meeting room of the Tibesty Hotel, witnessed presenting a number of scientific articles on the different dimensions of the national identity, such as “the historical, geographic, religious, ethnic, cultural, philosophical, economic and political dimensions,” according to the professor at the UoB College of Law, Dr. Ghaziya Shaitir.
The Center for Law and Society Studies was established in 2013 by a decision of the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research. Its objectives are to study the law in its broadest sense, including custom and religion, and to examine the circumstances behind the legal text, including political, economic, social and cultural conditions.
