The Address | Benghazi – Libya
AJDABIYA – Field Marshal Khalifa Haftar, the General Commander of the Libyan National Army (LNA), ordered yesterday Ajdabiya-Sirte Security Room to take required measures to secure the banks in the area in coordination with the commander of the 166th Infantry Regiment.
Haftar asked the area bank managers to continue work within the banks until the salaries of citizens, including the weekend.
Over the past few days, citizens from the Ajdabiya-Sirte region criticized local banks for closing too early before business hours, while people still queuing in long lines outside those banks to receive their salaries before Eid al-Adha holidays.
Libyan banks suffer from cash liquidity crisis where local banks failed to provide cash for their customers amid division with the Central Bank of Libya and the political divide in the country.
