BENGHAZI – Some Libyans have launched a campaign to sue commercial banks for failing to provide liquidity as defined by Libyan law.
The number of Libyan citizens participating in the campaign “Sue them: your dignity and money are your own rights” reached 1650 participants.
“An electronic template has been launched in which registration is done for all those who wish to file a lawsuit against the Libyan banks and the Central Bank of Libya as their guarantor,” the campaign coordinator, Khadija al-Amami, said in a press statement.
“Gumhouria Bank and Trade and Development Bank are the ones against which clients have filed suits more than any other bank,” al-Amami added.
