Salame and Russian Ambassador discuss “armed escalation” in Tripoli

TRIPOLI – The Special Representative of the Secretary-General of the United Nations, Ghassan Salame, discussed with Russian Ambassador to Libya, Ivan Molotkov, the military escalation in Tripoli.

The meeting, held on Tuesday, discussed the importance of the need to protect civilians and restore calm at this time, according to UN mission in Libya (UNSMIL) page on Facebook.

The two sides also reviewed the latest developments in Libya, especially with regard to the file of the electoral process.
