Local Council of Tawergha calling on displaced Tawerghans to return to the city

The Address | Benghazi – Libya

TAWERGHA – The Local Council of Tawergha called on the people of Tawergha to return to their city after two people were killed and five injured when a shell fell on al-Fallah camp, where displaced Tawergan people reside, because of the clashes in Tripoli.

“The city of Tawergha is open and safe for all families wishing to return home,” the Council said in a post on its official Facebook account.

The Council called on the people of Tawergha in the camps to be careful and not to approach the places of clashes. It also appealed to the Libyan state agencies to shoulder their responsibilities to protect civilians in the camps and other places.

It is noteworthy that the residents of Tawergha, about 30000 population, have been displaced from their city since 2011 due to the uprising that took place in Libya against the former ruler of the country, Muammar Gaddafi.
