TRIPOLI – The General Electricity Company of Libya (GECOL), through its Facebook page, confirmed today that all the transfer stations in the western region of Libya have been fed and a number of generating units have been installed on the network with a capacity of up to 2200 MW.

The company pointed out that work is still underway to upgrade the efficiency of the electrical network and the return of five generating units in the Zawiya double station, two generating units in the station south of Tripoli, and four generating units in the station of Khoms with a capacity of 1600 MW.

GECOL added that monitoring the electrical network is managed from outside the main control room (gypsum gate – Al-Sawani road) because of the difficulty of access and limited resources, which makes it difficult to monitor the network.
