Meeting on supporting security arrangements in Tripoli and Salame warns

The Address | Benghazi – Libya

TRIPOLI – A meeting on security arrangements in Tripoli was held on Wednesday to discuss the support of al-Zawia Agreement to consolidate the cease-fire, the establishment of the Ceasefire Committee and the Security Arrangements Committee, at the presence of the Head of the Presidential Council of the Government of National Accord, Fayez al-Sarraj, and the Special UN Envoy to Libya, Ghassan Salame.

“There is a willingness from the International Community to deal firmly with those who manipulate or violate the cease-fire,” the UN mission (UNSMIL) quoted Salame saying at the meeting.

“Today evening, I will hold a meeting with diplomatic missions and ambassadors to discuss violations of the cease-fire and those who stand behind them,” Salame added.

Earlier on Wednesday, the vicinity of Mitiga Airport was shelled by rocket fire. A group called itself “Tripoli Youth Movement” claimed responsibility for the operation.

The incident prompted the Airport to deport all aircraft from the airport, stop air traffic and transfer flights to Misurata International Airport.
