UN Security Council adds Jadhran to its sanctions list

LIBYA – On 11 September 2018, the Committee approved the addition of Ibrahim Saeed Salim Jadhran to its List of individuals and entities subject to the assets freeze and travel ban, set out in paragraphs 15 and 17 of Security Council resolution 1970 (2011), and paragraph 19 of resolution 1973 (2011), adopted under Chapter VII of the Charter of the United Nations., UN statement on its official website said.

It is noteworthy that Jadhran used to control the Oil Crescent Region in Eastern Libya as a Head of Oil Installations Guard appointed by Ali Zidan Government under the General National Congress. Later, Jadhran split from the government and prevented exporting oil by National Oil Corporation. Recently he attacked the Oil Crescent Region after he had been removed by the Libyan National Army (LNA).
