Economic reforms fall under the competence of CBL, al-Hebri states

Al-BAYDA – Deputy Governer of the Central Bank of Libya (CBL) – al-Bayda, Ali al-Hebri, said in a televised remarks that members of the current CBL Council were preparing to hold a meeting on Sunday in Benghazi regarding the exchange rate.

Al-Hebri explained that the members of the Board of Directors had raised the idea of holding a comprehensive meeting through the Presidential Council of the Tripoli-based Government of National Accord (GNA).

Regarding the Program of Economic Reforms announced by the Presidential Council, Supreme Council of the State and the CBL – Tripoli on Wednesday, Al-Habri pointed out that the issue of reforms falls under the competence of CBL.

The deputy governor also pointed out that the economic reforms require either new laws or amending existing laws, adding that there should be a high-level committee of all to oversee the economic reforms.
