29 members of the State Council call for dissolution of all Libyan political bodies and holding elections

TRIPOLI – 29 members of the State Council of the Tripoli-based Government of National Accord (GNA), including Abdul Rahman al Swehli, the former Head of the Council, issued a statement calling of the dissolution of the Presidential Council and the State Council of GNA, in addition to the House of Representatives (HoR), saying that conditions in the country had reached to an extent that is no longer acceptable by all means, according to the statement.

Members who signed the statement said the crisis of legitimacy erosion of these bodies, as stated, became more than ever requiring acceleration of holding legislative and presidential elections on time, calling on Libyan People and civil institutions to pressure to achieve this urgent requirement.
