Militia demand $1Million to hand over brother of Manchester bomber

The Address | Benghazi – Libya

LONDON –  British newspaper Sunday Express reported today that Hashem Abedi, brother of Manchester bomber Salman Abedi, is offered for sale to the highest bidder. A militia group is inviting bids of $1million to hand him over.

Hashem Abedi, 21, was detained by a Libyan militia last year and is being held at Mitiga airport near the Libyan capital Tripoli. He is wanted for extradition by The UK government but there are now fears he could escape justice and be sold to terrorist groups such as ISIS.

According to the newspaper, Foreign and Commonwealth Office sources said they were “closely monitoring” the situation and were still hopeful the extradition request would be honoured.

Investigators believe Hashem Abedi helped to gather the materials for the bomb his brother used to blow himself up at a concert in Manchester last year, which resulted in the death of 22 people.
