TRIPOLI – The Presidential Council of the Government of National Accord (GNA) decided to release detainees in various prisons and detention centres. Specifically those whose periods of imprisonment exceeded the legal period stipulated by law, and no action has been taken on them.
The presidential decree, issued on Sunday, excluded in its first article detainees accused of terrorism, murder, armed robbery, banditry, and drug trafficking.
The Presidential Council, in the second article of its decree, called upon the competent authorities to take immediate legal action against those who excluded the provisions of the previous article.
