Libyan demands to implement international promises to migrants

TRIPOLI – The Undersecretary of the Ministry of the Interior for the illegal immigration of the Government of National Accord (GNA), Mohammed Al-Shaibani met on Sunday with political advisor at the British Embassy in Libya, Matty O’Kelly.

In the meeting, which was held at the Corinthia Hotel in Tripoli, Al-Shaibani confirmed the transfer of migrants to safe places after the late clashes in Tripoli.

Al-Shaibani demanded that international organizations concerned with the immigration file in Libya abide by its promises to provide the needs of shelters for immigrants in the country.

Al-Shaibani pointed out during the meeting the importance of activating the desert patrols in southern Libya to stop the flow of illegal immigrants to the cities of the Libyan coast.
