TARHUNA – Libya Tribal Elders renewed in a statement on Monday their commitment to the cease-fire in the Libyan capital of Tripoli. They demanded as well the dissolution of all armed groups in the capital and the abolition of all resolutions legitimizing militias.

During a national conference in the city of Tarhuna, Tribal Elders praised in a statement the efforts of the United Nations Mission in Libya (UNSMIL) aimed at a cease-fire in Tripoli.

The Libyan capital recently witnessed violent clashes between government forces and the “7th Brigade” militia from Tarhuna, which resulted in the killing of at least 78 and injuring 210 others.
