Canada calls for cessation of fighting in Tripoli

The Address | Benghazi – Libya

TRIPOLI – The Canadian Embassy in Libya called on Wednesday on all parties to the conflict to refrain from fighting and continue to work with the UN Support Mission in Libya (UNSMIL) to save the lives of civilians in Tripoli.

On Tuesday, UNSMIL denounced the renewed violence in Tripoli and called on all parties to abide by the Ceasefire Agreement signed under the auspices of it in al-Zawiya City west of Tripoli.

The process of reforms cannot be conducted in light of the fighting, of which unarmed civilians living in Tripoli and those coming from throughout Libya bear the brunt, UNSMIL stressed.
