TRIPOLI – The International Organization for Migration estimates that at least 3,845 families (approximately 19,225 individuals) have been displaced since the clashes broke out in Tripoli on 26 August.

In a statement published yesterday on its official Facebook page, the IOM also stated that approximately 120 families temporarily gathered in six schools in the Tripoli area. The majority of displaced households originate from conflict-affected areas in Southern Tripoli.

Tripoli has witnessed deadly clashes since 26 August, and despite  UN support mission efforts to hold a cease-fire among conflicting militias, fighting continues as the capital descends into chaos.
