We had nothing to do with Tripoli events and UN experts report was nonsense, LNA states

The Address | Benghazi – Libya

BENGHAZI – The Spokesman for the General Command of the Libyan National Army (LNA), Brigadier General Ahmed al-Mesmari, confirmed Wednesday that LNA did not participate in the fighting in Tripoli.

In his weekly conference on Wednesday in Benghazi, al-Masmari warned of tambering with the security of the Capital, stressing that LNA would stand by citizens there.

Al-Mesmari described the Head of the Presidential Council of the Tripoli-based Government of National Accord (GNA), Fayez al-Sarraj, as affiliated to the militias, and not vice versa.

LNA would form a military vanguard stationed in the Western Region, after controlling some important areas, the Spokesman said.

The report of the UN Panel of Experts aimed at unity of Libya, and what was reported regarding the Central Bank in al-Bayda was nonsense, al-Mesmari added.

At the same conference, al-Mesmari called on the Special Representative of the Secretary-General of the United Nations, Ghassan Salame, to tell the truth about the battle of liberating Derna.

He refused the the UN envoy’s description of LNA as one of the conflicting parties in Derna.

The property of the terrorists in Derna was still their right, and no one caould harm it, al-Mesmari added.

He pointed out that the attack on public and private property is a crime that its price would be paid by the perpetrators.
