UNSMIL supports voice of cities rejecting the war in Tripoli

The Address | Benghazi – Libya

TRIPOLI – United Nations Support Mission in Libya (UNSMIL) welcomed on Sunday the numerous statements made by several Libyan cities condemning the violence and calling for an end to the fighting and the establishment of a ceasefire in Tripoli.

The Mission noted in a tweet that it heard the voices of those cities pushing for security and economic reforms through peaceful means for a capital free from armed groups.

It is noteworthy that the statement of UNSMIL came today after renewed armed clashes in the areas of Airport Road and the Mashrou al-Hadhba between the Joint Deterrence Force – Abu Salim, led by Abdul Ghani Alkikli, known for Gnaiwa, and al-Somoud Brigade led by Salah Badi from Misurata.
