Ministerial meeting on Libya in New York

NEW YORK – The political advisor to the chairman of the Presidential Council of the Government of National Accord, Tahir al-Sunni, announced via his Twitter account the start of the ministerial meeting on Libya, which is held on the margins of the UN General Assembly in New York on Monday evening to discuss the latest security and political situation in Libya.

Al-Sunni said both chairman Presidential Council, Faiz al-Sarraj and head of the United Nations Support Mission in Libya Ghassan Salamé would would offer their briefings to the meeting via video-conference the capital, Tripoli.

The meeting was attended by GNA’s Foreign Minister Mohamed Taher Siala, French Foreign Minister Jean-Yves Le Drian, Algerian Foreign Minister Abdelkader Messahel, Tunisian Foreign Minister Khemaies Jhinaoui and EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Federica Mogherini.
