Egyptian Foreign Ministry returns its detained citizens in Libya

CAIRO – The Egyptian Foreign Ministry managed to repatriate 78 citizens who had entered Libya illegally, according to a statement by the ministry published via its Facebook page.

The Egyptian Foreign Ministry explained that the Ministry received notification from the International Organization for Migration (IOM) office in Tunis through the Cairo office of the organization that some 115 Egyptian citizens were detained in Libya.

Libyan security patrols found and rescued illegal Egyptian migrants on September 25th in the south of the al-Jaghbub oasis at 120 kilometers in the Libyan desert after a smuggler left them without food or drink.
