TRIPOLI – The spokesman for the Ambulance and Emergency Service in Tripoli Osama Ali, said in a televised interview on Libya Channel on Wednesday, that the Service teams and in cooperation with the Libyan Red Crescent was able to evacuate 3 families in the Borji area, and 3 others in the area of Wadi Shaal.
He pointed out that the units of the Service was able to access the headquarters of the Souq al-Jumaa municipality, and evacuated its staff from the building to their homes, noting the presence of human casualties, which are difficult to limit due to lack of a specialized team to deal with the crisis.
Ali also pointed out that the Service teams could not reach everyone who asked for help due to lack of resources.
Flooding consumed large parts of the capital as heavy rains began to fall with the early hours of Wednesday, following earlier warnings by the Government of National Accord’s Interior Ministry of a rainstorm approaching Libyan airspace.
