The Address | Benghazi – Libya

NEW YORK – Algerian Foreign Minister Abdelkader Messahel has held separate meetings on the sidelines of UN General Assembly with his French and Russian counterparts, Jean-Yves Le Drian and Sergei Lavrov, in which they discussed the crisis in Libya.

Messahel stated via a tweet that he discussed with Russian Foreign Minister Lavrov the situation in Libya, Mali and Syria, as well as the fight against terrorism between Algeria and Russia.

In a separate meeting, Messahel discussed with French Foreign Minister Le Drian serious developments in the situation in Libya and issues related to combating terrorism, organized crime and illegal immigration.

Prior to Algeria’s consultations with Russia and France, Messahel asked at a high-level meeting on Libya in New York to put an end to foreign interference in the Libyan crisis, which remains a major obstacle to the peace process.
