GEC warns of complete electricity shutdown in western Libya

TRIPOLI – The General Electricity Company of Libya (GEC) stated via its Facebook page that most of the power lines connecting Tripoli and Zawiya were hit as a result of armed clashes in  Jaffara area on Friday.

The General Electricity Company also warned of complete electricity shutdown in the western region from the south of Tripoli to Zawiya.

It should be noted that the electrical system has been attacked in several incidents during the clashes in the capital Tripoli recently.
