Extension of European sanctions on Aguila Saleh, Abusahmain and al-Ghawil

The Address | Benghazi – Libya

BRUSSELS – The European Union decided in a written procedure to extend its sanctions by freezing the assets and banning travel of the Speaker of the House of Representatives Aguila Saleh, former National Congress Speaker Nouri Abusahmain and former head of the Salvation Government Khalifa al-Ghawil for an additional six months.

The European Union said the sanctions were imposed because of the involvement of the three officials in obstructing the implementation of the Libyan political agreement signed on December 17, 2015.
