UN official confirms growing presence of Darfur rebels in Libya

The Address | Benghazi – Libya

DARFUR – The head of the UN Sanctions Committee on Sudan, Joanna Wronecka, said that the State of Southern Sudan has reduced its support for the Darfur rebels, while the presence of those rebel groups increased in Libya.

In its quarterly report to the UN Security Council, Wronecka called on the UN sanctions committee to cooperate with the aim of monitoring the Darfur rebels and their movements in Libya and developing a common approach to prevent them from engaging in activities that threaten regional peace and security.
