British ambassador and Mayor of Benghazi discuss joint cooperation

BENGHAZI – British ambassador to Libya Frank Baker met on Monday with Mayor of Benghazi, Abdelrahman Elabbar, and discussed the British support mechanism for the ongoing efforts to promote stability and reconstruction in the city.

Baker revealed during the meeting, in the presence of Deputy Foreign Minister Habib Al-Mayhoub and Director of European Affairs Hafez Al-Tajouri, the readiness of British companies to work in the city of Benghazi.

The British Ambassador said that his country is ready to provide support through the provision of mine detection equipment, and raise awareness about the dangers of mines and explosive materials in Benghazi.

For his part, Elabbar stressed the need to establish an economic forum in the city of Benghazi, which include Libyan businessmen and their British counterparts, to widen the horizons of joint cooperation between the two countries.
