Eni CEO: Agreement with BP for explorations in Libya is “historic”

MILAN – Eni CEO, Claudio Descalzi, described on Wednesday the agreement between British Petroleum (BP) and National Oil Corporation (NOC) as “historic”, Reuters reported.

Claudio Descalzi, speaking on the sidelines of a conference organized by the Italian Institute for International Political Studies (ISPI), said that “The agreement with BP in Libya is important and it is very, very historical. We have acquired approximately 54,000 square miles of onshore and offshore and these are close to our facilities”.

On October 8th, The CEOs of Eni, BP and the chairman of NOC signed in London a letter of intent (LOI) upon which Eni will acquire a 42.5% interest in the BP-operated exploration and production sharing agreement (EPSA) in Libya.
