Spanish Navy conducts exercises with the Libyan and Portuguese Marinas

FERROL – Spanish newspaper La Voz de Galicia, reported on Wednesday that Spanish Navy of the city of Ferrol is conducting exercises with the Libyan and Portuguese Marinas in the waters of Tunisia.

The newspaper quoted a post by the Ferrol Maritime Action Force (FAM) units on Twitter in which they stated that the exercises came within the framework of the deployment Sea Border Defense Initiative 5 + 5.

The 5+5 Defence Initiative is the defense part of the 5+5 Dialogue which brings together five countries on the southern side of the Mediterranean (Algeria, Libya, Mauritania, Morocco and Tunisia) and five countries on the northern side (France, Italy, Malta, Portugal and Spain).
